I'm 21, recently engaged, and I built Local Flower because finding a reputable florist who actually does unique, beautiful work shouldn't feel like a guessing game.
The talented florists are out there. You just have to know where to look.

Amy and I on our proposal day.
Throughout my relationship with Amy, flowers were my weak point. I didn't know what colors meant (apparently yellow roses can mean friendship OR jealousy?), I had no clue how to keep them alive past day three, and I could never figure out which shops actually did beautiful, distinctive work.
Every florist's website looked the same. Stock photos, generic bouquets, no real sense of who they were or what made them different. The truly talented designers were hiding right next to the cookie-cutter shops, and there was no easy way to tell them apart.
And trying to vet them online? Half had websites from 2008 with three blurry photos. The other half looked polished but you couldn't tell if a real artist was behind the arrangements or if it was just a slick template. I'd spend an hour piecing together reviews, Instagram, and word of mouth just to find someone I could trust.
But here's what made me realize how much flowers actually matter: Amy presses a flower from every bouquet I've ever given her. Every single one. She keeps them in a book. That's when I understood these aren't just plants. They're memories. And the florist you choose is the difference between a forgettable bunch and something she keeps forever.
I just wished finding the right one wasn't so hard.

After all that work tracking down a florist I trusted for the proposal, I thought: there has to be a better way. So I built one.
No fluff. Here's the deal:
Every flower shop in your area, in one place. Real photos, real info, no guessing.
Real reviews, real portfolios, real work. See who's genuinely talented before you commit.
What they mean, how long they last, what occasions they're for. The stuff nobody teaches you.
What used to take an hour of research now takes a few minutes. Get back to your life.
I'm not trying to replace local florists. I'm trying to help people find you.
Most small flower shops don't have huge marketing budgets or fancy websites. That doesn't mean they don't have amazing flowers. Local Flower gives every shop a fair shot at being discovered.
Your basic listing is free. If you want to claim your shop and add more details, that's free too. We offer optional paid upgrades for shops that want extra customization and potentially visibility.
Whether it's an anniversary, an apology, or a random Tuesday because you felt like it. I get it.
Find every flower shop near you or near whoever you're sending flowers to.
Not sure what to get? Filter by what you need them for and we'll point you in the right direction.
Every flower has a page with meanings, care tips, and ideas. Become a flower person without trying.
The right florist turns flowers into something memorable. The wrong one turns a special moment into a forgettable bunch from a shelf. I want everyone to land with the right one.
Talented, reputable florists exist in every town. Local Flower is just the tool I wish I'd had to find them.
