This is the nastiest Safeway in town. There are soo many expired items and meat products that are clearly bad. The self check out limits you to 15 items but there is only ever one cashier open if you have more. The drunken homeless people are everywhere too and constantly stealing from the store and nothing is done about it. The staff is friendly and us the only bright spot of the store.
I tried the chicken here after hearing it was the best in town, and you know what? It was! I couldn't believe grocery store chicken was beating out the restaurants. One gentleman working there holds the secrets to magic, but I'll definitely be back as my wife won't let me forget. Cheap Chicken Monday's is the time. This store lucked out when they found this guy!
I will never be going back to this store ever again. They sold me expired food 5 months expired. I've gotten food poisoning from their deli. There was a dude 'watering' the bushes out in the parking lot for everyone to see. Nobody should be buying the food here, you could become seriously ill by doing so.
Very good & best Supermarket in Close to FAI Airport
I’ve worked in customer service for years and years, and I’m not one to write negative reviews or ask to speak to a manager but I almost did today. I went in to grab some Cole slaw for my husband’s work meal for thanksgiving tomorrow and noticed that the deli salad bar area had almost nothing in it. I very politely asked the lady there if she was out of Cole slaw or if there was more, to which she very curtly and rudely answered that I don’t see it there because she has to make it, she hasn’t had time, she only has two hands… extremely rude. I apologized, offered to come back tomorrow, no problem. She then tells me she has to make it today anyway and it might not be there tomorrow even though she was supposed to be off already so if I want it, I can wait. Okay, I’ll wait, no problem. I then proceed to listen to her complain the entire time. Hands me my coleslaw and says at least someone’s holiday will be happy. I know she’s clearly overwhelmed, overworked right now and tired. But my goodness. There is NO reason to be THAT rude. She even barked at the next guy looking at the salads and the other people there working with her. I was honestly appalled. I almost went and asked for a manager but decided against it. I understand the holidays are rough, especially in any customer service environment but that was ridiculous. So, a warning. Watch out for the older lady at the deli. I hope she has a better day tomorrow.
