Elegant Orchid Fresno

My elderly mom went in to buy a orchid and was rudely told she could not touch the orchids by the lady who was working. My mom went to purchase her orchid and a pot for it which was $23 and the sales lady rudely says to my mom “ you owe me $3 for a tip”!! My mom was shocked and paid her. My mom will never go back again! Very poor customer service!!

Sadly, never again with this store. EVER! Bought some small orchids on sale. (Wooohooo!) Got home and found they were infected with what turns out to be mealy bugs. I call back, and she says just dab them with alcohol. Yeah right. Works the first time. 10 times later, I figure out this is more than must a handful of bugs I need to get rid of. The roots are likely infested with larvae. She sold these cheap cuz they were infected, and she didn't bother to tell us. I'm PO'd--cuz I unknowingly exposed a BUNCH of other orchids to this ugly infestation.

When we walked in we didn't see anyone. When I did see the lady she was watering orchids. I said hello but she just stared at me. I noticed how she was watering the orchids, by sharing water. This is not a good idea u can spread pests and infection that way. The lady was rude didn't speak to us at all. But she was watching everything we were doing. I picked up and orchid I wanted to buy and was going to ask her if I could purchase it. As I looked up she was already yelling at me telling me I couldn't purchase it because it was for an arrangement. I took off and won't be back! You are better off buying 9ne from Trader Joe's or vons. At vonis i found a miltona. This placed just had phals.

I went in and wasn’t sure if I was allowed to shop around or if the orchids are just there for making larger arrangements. I ended up buying a white orchid and a small yellow orchid. Everything was fine until a month or two late when the white orchid was obviously infested with mealy bugs! I was so glad I didn’t have it near my other plants and orchids. Be weary. The bug problem was not evident when I purchased them.

Visited this shop about 2 years ago and bought an orchid for a friend... the lady who was there was almost hostile; I don't know if she is just distrustful of people or she was profiling me because it seemed like she couldn't wait for me to leave. Fast forward to this month and I decided I wanted an orchid for myself. I told my son to drive me there and then I suddenly remembered why I had not been back! Beautiful orchids, but seriously, not worth the bad treatment. I see Whole Foods and other businesses I go to now have orchids so perhaps it is best to just go elsewhere and skip the Not-so-Elegant Orchid.
