Over the past few months I made several (6) visits to this location primarily for their hot plate meal and without fail I ha e always (every single time) have had an issue eith with the staff servicing the department (they seem to ALWAYS BE IN HIDING), and in combination they will serve expired food (chicken and the potatoe wedges (dried out and uncrewable), they don't stir or rotate any of the food: rice, mac & cheese, mac & beef and they will serve you the dried out and crusty top(s) of these items...back to the potatoe wedges they don't keep a batch sitting by in the event that the ones on the serving line are dried out and expired, they will tell you "oh you can wait 15 minutes (which is what I was told today, so i did my best to try and explain to the woman staff member that "I'm just trying to understand how it works", "so, despite the fact that what in currently on the serving line is not a full portion, the fact that clearly what is there has expired, you haven't started preparing a fresh batch (the time was on or about 3:00 p.m.), so I asked if I could get something from the cold side devil egg salad, she said no, I asked a couple different ways siting the fact that I did not want to wait 15 minutes and indirectly communicated that it is your fault (staff member) that this situation exist, her response did not change it was still "no" so, I asked to speak with a manager, she told me that she was the manager for the department, I then asked if I could speak with the store manager (she took attitudewith me) and I was directed to the store manager by a different staff member, I explained to the store manager the situation she seem a bit shocked that the woman working g the hot food area had denied me the option to select the devil egg salad in place of the potato wedges, the store manager immediately allowed me the opt for the devil egg salad. It is my option, that when an item is not available (at the fault of the department in question, within reason the customer should be OFFERED a reasonable substitute that should be available. I have had a very similar experiences at the 3345 Sport Arean Blvd 92110, as well, expired food being served, have been served dried out crusty tops, lukewarm to down right cold potatoe wedges....the other day I was at this location instead of the staff members hiding they will refuse to turn and acknowledge you, or look at you as to say "go away". These are the main 2 locations I go to, but because the items of concern are identical leads me to believe the majority if not all of the theology in this department are the same. As for the woman I encountered today, she does not need to be in direct with the customer at all, her employment with Ralph is doing a Disservice....
Clean restrooms, cheap deals, plenty of stock, and most employees are nice. Great stock of daily deals in the back. Some employees are not very nice, but only a few. Overall, one of the best grocery stores I've been to.
I am from out of state and it was my first time coming to one of these. As soon as I approached the doors to enter, a sales associate sprinted past us with a bottle of wine to catch a customer that had forgotten it after paying for it. It was an elderly man who didn't even realize he left it and the associate was so friendly and helped the man get it into his things. Inside the store everything is clearly labeled and organized and easy to find and every cart had working, smooth wheels. At check out, we ended up with the same sales associate I saw upon entry and his name was James! He was very kind to the elderly lady checking out in front of us. She forgot an item and he waited patiently for her to go grab it and happily finished her transaction. He then helped her bag everything and kept having to fix an item that was on sale but wasn't showing up in the system. He remained patient and eager to make sure she got the price that was advertised and didn't give up when it wouldn't work. He politely apologized for the wait even though we didn't mind and truly made it apparent that he takes care of each customer fully before moving on to the next. Once it was our turn he was fully invested in the conversation and so friendly and happy to serve us. He really seemed like he enjoys working there and made the experience more than it would've been with someone who didn't have a full and genuine personality like James. I hope all other cashiers are like this one because he truly stood out and I barely ever see a happy cashier, let alone one that goes out of his way to do his job as well as he was for each customer! Wish we had more like him in North Carolina!
This store is humongous! Enormous clearance section with lots and lots of super marked down great quality items. I always check there first. They often have diapers & wipes, tampons, and pads, medicine, beauty products, toys & school supplies, and coffee beans marked WAY down in the clearance section. I love it so much. They also have a huge awesome selection of random kitchen gadgets like coffee makers, toasters, mixers, irons, pots and pans. Its one of my favorite stores. Also they have a HUGE selection of pet food unlike most other grocery stores.
Ralph’s is just my favorite store. (And I love Trader Joe’s too which is right next door). Heaven for me.. Ralph’s, They still offer markdowns for great deals in bakery, produce, meats, and their app always has specials and coupons. The store is huge and has just about everything…. I love the layout, wide aisles, easy labels above aisles.. if I get lost. I love the large self checkout too. And always someone there to help. People working there have always been friendly, capable smart, and helpful. They have awesome variety of produce and it’s fresh and delicious and good prices. The app is easy, it’s all good. Because so many love it, it CAN be crowded so I shop in off hours and it’s perfect. (Weekdays 1-4pm works for me) while I love Trader Joe’s, the aisles are narrow, people are usually hurrying so gotta keep it moving, and it’s most often quite busy. My Vons turned into Pavillions and almost doubled lots of prices and added fancier stuff.. But I still sometimes go and use the app for deals. They always have a few, but more so with the app.
