Safeway

Great location for the downtown area of San Francisco, due to being on the path of public transit just off Market Street. The bakery really knows how to show there fresh pastries, bagles & donuts! It was tasty & delicious! Support the emplyees that make that happen with a greeting and a smile.

I truly appreciate this particular Safeway on Church & Market location! The cashiers, managers, and all the employees who work the afternoon shift, typically from 2 PM to 9 PM, are consistently outstanding and dedicated individuals. I often visit during those hours after work, and I've always been impressed. Even the security guards are wonderful. This is, without a doubt, the best Safeway in San Francisco. They almost always have well-stocked shelves, and the store is remarkably neat and clean. My compliments to the manager overseeing that shift at this location.

I bought green noodles at this store. When I decided to make something with the noodles I found they were not wheat free/gluten free. So, I came to market st/ church at location to return my purchase and buy something else that would work for my diet. I was told by an older Asian lady and some young Latin guy that this location has a 30 day return policy. But there is no policy on the receipt or on Safeways website, and Albertsons corp. Does not have an end date policy for non-parishable items. I would like Safeway to know I won't be shopping at your store until you make some changes to your stupid policies for which these retail level employees are capitalizing on. I am a good customer, I spent more money there not knowing how poor your customer service is with returning unusable items.

So your employees need to be careful where they spray chemicals, if they are around any food or products. On December 8th, I had bought my 2 young children, 2 chocolate candies with a surprise inside. About 2 days later we opened one and all had a piece, and then I started to taste something nasty, it tasted like the chocolate got sprayed with cleaner, my daughter spat it out, but my son swallowed some of the chocolate and got sick. He was on fetal position all night crying. And I wanted to bring this to Safeways attention. The chocolate is covered in tinfoil like wrapping, and when I looked at the bottom of the rapper, where the barcode was, the bar code was orange and it was obviously wet with chemical substance. I took a picture of the candy , and the bar codes(the one that got sprayed, and the other candy we haven't opened yet) plus a screenshot of my receipt from that day. I just don't want this to happen again to anyone or anyone's child.

I came to this Safeway where I frequently shop to make a return, upon parking I felt nausea and so my husband and I ran across the street to a restroom we trust before returning to the store. I recieved a parking ticket for literally leaving the parking lot from a private company for 5 minutes and a Safeway employee said they couldn’t help me. I’ve never in my life encountered anything like this and find it incredibly un reasonable for the scenario at hand. I no longer feel safe coming to shop here for my family.
