Stop & Shop

I had to update my review because for the past month I've bought several packs of meat here and took them home only to find out they went bad. The worst experience yet is buying a corned beef on sale. I know corned beef already has that weird smell but this one smelled so bad. I bought chicken, pork, beef, all different types of meat and everytime I've thrown the pack away. From now on I'm returning it. I cant afford to throw out food. They need to put in new coolers with doors on them. Trust me - customers would rather take the few extra seconds to open a door then throw away thousands of dollars of meat every year. March 23' Walking into this store was a breath of fresh air! The florist obviously did a lot of work recently because there were flowers and balloons and stuffed animals all over the entire front of the store all the way to the floral department. It was absolutely stunning. The produce was on point and fresh. Isles were clean and plenty of cashiers. I enjoy shopping here. The robot however has got to go! Hence the 4 stars.

There was no sign on store. It smelled like fish and was dirty. The deli area was filthy as well as the bathroom. There was some good prices and some ridiculous, watch carefully. The cashier was incredibly slow and the baggers were lazy. I bagged most of my groceries myself while bagger looked on. They had decent selection and a well stocked store so you should be able to find what you need. I asked an employee why no signage, (I was wondering if they were going out of business), and was told that they are remodeling. This is good news, but I find the floor plan fine but they may need to look at cleanliness,staffing, and customer care .

Today 8/20/2025 I went to the Stop & Shop Supermarket located in Bloomfield Cottage Grove. I specifically went to the deli department because yesterday, 8/19/2025, I had gone before 7 pm, and a gentleman standing across from the deli counter told me it was closed. To that same dark-skinned employee, I explained my order today, explained what I needed, and very clearly told him how thick I liked the ham. When the gentleman placed the ham to be weighed, I told him, "The ham is too thick," (because I had already let him know that I wanted it very thin, almost shaved). This gentleman very reluctantly threw the ham in the trash, and his face had an annoyed expression. In addition, he forcefully pulled the materials he used. I said to him, "Why are you so rude and in such a bad mood?" He told me that he was only pulling the paper in which he was going to put the ham. I told him to forget my order and that I did not want anything, that I would speak to a manager. I go to customer service and tell them I need to speak to a manager (his name is David). He is very attentive and I explain what happened. His expression tells me that similar situations had already occurred with that same employee. I explain to the manager that I had gone shopping at the same deli department the day before and that the same gentleman told me the deli was closed. Manager David, his face shocked, said, "The deli closes at 9 p.m." I was surprised too! David apologized for the bad experience I had and told me he would speak to the employee. Not everyone is suited to work directly with the public. I felt overwhelmed and disrespected. I hope this gentleman (if you can even call him that) received a warning. No one deserves treatment like this. Not a pleasant experience.

Stop & Shop in Bloomfield is always a pleasure to shop at. The store is spotless, well-organized, and fully stocked with everything I need. I never have trouble finding items, and the shelves are always neat and full. The staff here is active, friendly, and always ready to help, whether it’s answering questions or guiding me to the right aisle. Shopping here is easy and stress-free every time. Highly recommended.

Excellent service, the people there is always kind. The store is always clean and organized. Great fruits and veggies, I can find here mexican products but also hindi, jamaican and puertorican products that I love too, so it's super!
