Placed this order on Wednesday morning to be picked up Saturday at 10:30am. In the notes I asked to be called if anything needed to be changed. No one ever contacted me. When I went to pick up the cake, I gave the woman at the bakery my name and my pickup time. She said she didn’t understand and to hand her “the yellow paper”. I told her I didn’t understand what she meant. She said “the yellow paper that you were given” I explained to her that I ordered online on Wednesday and that I can show her my email confirmation but she said she didn’t want to see that. She then asks me “what was the message on the cake?” I tell her “Feliz cumpleaños mama”. She then switches to Spanish and says “no! What was the message on the cake?” I repeat myself. Then she asks me (in English) the same question. At this point, I’m getting annoyed and I repeat my answer a third time. Finally she says “who’s it for?” And I say my name. To which she says “no! Who places the order?!” And I say “yeah me, and I’m *repeats my name*” and then she huffs and goes to the back. She comes out with the cake. Hands it to me and walks away. I looked at the cake and was so sad to see how ugly it is. The colors aren’t the same and like I said, no one called me to let me know. If they had three days to contact me because these are not the colors I would’ve chosen. Also, they should teach the staff how to write on the cake. This is the worst writing I’ve ever seen. But my mother’s birthday brunch was in half an hour so I begrudgingly checked out. Do not bother with this bakery. They clearly don’t care about quality or customer satisfaction. Not to mention how rude and confused the woman working the counter. The only reason I’m giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because they had SOMETHING for me to pick up as opposed to nothing.
Rosa gave me attitude just because I told her I don’t need 4 bags just 2 and she told me I already charged you for 4 you can take them home…Seriously I need paper bags at home??. I don’t care about the .20 cents it’s just the way that she spoke to me.
I’ve been shopping at this ShopRite for over 25 years, and what happened today was unbelievable. I park my truck behind the lot near Planet Fitness — not even behind ShopRite — and I’ve been parking there for almost two years. And it’s only for one day or a day and a half, never longer. I don’t block anyone, don’t bother anyone, and I park there because after working all week it’s the only safe spot for my 18-wheeler. Today the manager came out with three other people, walked up on me aggressively, and spoke to me with a horrible attitude. No respect, no professionalism, just straight hostility. The way they surrounded me, I honestly felt threatened. Instead of having a simple conversation, he decided to escalate it and even said he would call the cops. For what? For parking in a spot I’ve been using responsibly for years without any issue. What makes it worse is that I’ve even delivered to this store before. You would think someone who shops here for decades — and helps keep the store stocked — would be treated with basic respect. This manager’s behavior was rude, unprofessional, and completely out of line. After 25 years of loyalty, I never expected to be treated this way.
First time in the Norwalk store! Another great, beautifully renovated Cingari family ShopRite store! I always feel like I get my money’s worth when I shop at the Cingari owned ShopRite stores in Fairfield County.
This is the first class store. They even have coffee for a dollar but you have to have it single dollar bill to do it. The store is extremely clean and the manager is very attentive. In fact, all the employees are attentive. It’s fully stocked and the prices are Average, but they have some great sales. But they have a high-end bakery and high-end meat market and you just feel like you’re in a very high-end store, but you’re not paying those prices.
