My deepest heartfelt thanks to customer service employees Ashlin as well as Makayla for finding my wallet that I had left in my cart after shopping. They were absolutely wonderful, and I cannot express my gratitude for their honesty, trustworthiness and kindness. You both are the BEST!!!! THANK YOU!!!
I've been going to this location constantly for years. It has always been good, especially customer service wise. I haven't been in a few months. I returned to see the renovations. I don't know who they hired for the registers, but they are horrible. The cashier I went to kept trying to shine the scanner gun in my eyes, even after me and other employees told him to stop. He acted like it was a funny joke even though it can hurt someone. I tried to tell a manager but was told "we can't do anything because he's the manager's son, but I'll talk to him" like he's done this before. I know I saw him years ago, but I don't remember him being this rude. I didn't read either of their name tags sadly. The employees really need to go through training again
My mother has had her groceries delivered from here for several years to her home. She has since moved to a skilled nursing facility a month ago. I recently called to add a decorative small tree/plant for a surprise Christmas cheer to add to her room to be delivered and was assisted by the online shopping staff. They were exceptionally helpful in choosing a cute tree and then surpassed any expectations by placing lights (even installed batteries) and decorations on it! My Mom and the staff at the nursing home love it! Thank you so much for the great customer service! Merry Christmas to all! 🎄
Went into the store today and witnessed something that truly stuck with me. A young woman was shopping with a dog sitting in the child seat of the cart, resting on a thick blanket. When I mentioned how sweet the dog was, she explained that the dog helps keep her grounded if alarms go off due to her time serving in the Ukrainian military during the last few years. She even showed me images of herself over there. Shortly after, a young man named Diego approached her. He did not introduce himself or say he was the manager, but told her the dog had to be on the floor. She explained that she is partially paralyzed and cannot safely manage that, yet he still insisted. This would have required her to place herself and the dog on a dirty grocery store floor, despite the dog not touching the cart and being fully contained on a blanket. It was upsetting to see such little empathy shown toward a disabled veteran who relies on her dog for support. Rather than handling the situation with compassion , the interaction felt unnecessarily rigid and dismissive.
I had stopped shopping here in the past due to quality issues, but I was recently wooed back by their "door busters" and sales. However, today's shopping experience reminded me why I left. I usually check my meat carefully, but this morning I was in a rush and the packaging was not transparent enough to see the color. When I got home, the chicken was foul-smelling and rotten despite being within the expiration date. I should have brought it back, but that meant driving forty minutes again. In the trash it went, in this economy, this feels insulting. This is a pattern—the lettuce is also consistently wilted, suggesting perishables are left on the loading dock far too long. In this economy, "savings" don't matter if the food goes straight into the trash. With the new Trader Joe’s open in Shelton and the reliability of Aldi, there is no reason to risk my health or wallet here.
