Never in my entire 31 years of life on Earth have I felt so disrespected and uncomfortable than today when I had the unfortunate experience of being accused of stealing a water bottle in the checkout line right after I scanned it. The aggressive, geriatric woman with the disgusting burnt orange box-dye poodle hair who was overseeing the self checkout line was so incredibly rude and condescending, not to mention she had no type of social awareness when it came to personal space and was breathing down my neck while I bought my whopping 2 items: bottled water and a salad from the salad bar. She was insistent upon telling me which button to push when I had to choose which container my salad was in, as if I’ve never operated technology before or been through self check out. Finally, I’m about to pay and she asked, “Did you scan that water?” I said yes, and she gave me a very confused look. Since I have eyeballs, and she had eyeballs, she could have literally just looked at my screen and saw that I scanned the water, but instead she was insistent upon looking at my receipt. I said, “wow you guys are REALLY on top of people” which I also meant literally because I could practically smell what she ate for lunch since she was so close to me. She replied, “Well you’d be surprised at how many people don’t scan things” I said “well I don’t steal” Implying I was stealing—wild. And a first. Wish I could remember the name of this woman, I spoke with a very nice manager from the Deli who said she would be spoken to. But honestly, this woman should NOT be in this job position. As I ate my salad, I could see her giving other people a hard time down below. I just find this type of aggressive and accusatory behavior to be wildly inappropriate, especially considering Publix is supposed to pride themselves on their customer service. I’ve never ever felt so disrespected at a grocery store in my entire life.
I do Instacart the employees are very rude there the philippine lady in the deli didn’t want to give me one chicken breast. Saying they are closing and the stock guy had to tell her numerous times to give me the chicken breast. At the end of the night they threw away the chicken away anyways. Also I didn’t know that the store closing at 9pm. Now I’m at the cashier was very& very Rudy I think her name is Kathy. She took the cake by rushing me by waving at me like a kid to hurry up. They need to learn customer service. I had to refund must of my customer order because being rush out. Please inform Instacart that the store Close at 9pm.
Numerous occasions, I get expired food, and on my last visit raspberries were moldy… at this point when I have to shop there, I check everything now. Can’t wait for Aldi’s to open (hopefully it’s much better)and/or Winn-Dixie to come back! Took the expired items up to the customer service desk and just got a dirty look. If you shop here, check your expiration dates, and definitely check the fresh food… Additionally, they raise prices for the two for one deals… Astronomically! You end up paying the same normal price for two items. They think consumers are stupid.
Today, I was short $5.85 because I didn't have my wallet with me. The cashier, whom I think was named Lynda, was the only open cashier working the morning 9 AM shift, whom I had checked out many times before. She covered my shortage instead of having me return the item. I thank her and will repay her next time I shop, which is usually at least twice a week. This person went well beyond her duty to ensure customer satisfaction. We need more kind people like her. Please make sure your store manager acknowledges her.
It’s a clean store but its selections are not good. Example- Turkey burgers 2 packages and they both are two days away from expiration. Mostly public’s brand in the meat section. Small selection of chicken. Thomas English muffins has been close to empty for over a week? Produce is real bad. Kiwi is old and over ripe always. Have never seen one person at the fish counter. Again local fish? Farm salmon and tilapia. We live in Florida how about a fresh Florida fish. Key west shrimp? Something fresh! Lots of money in this area better get it together. Snow birds are coming better order more food.
