Missy Gunnels Flowers

Missy and her team did an incredible job for my daughters fall wedding. They were able to put together exactly what she envisioned for her special day and the arrangements were absolutely beautiful and beyond our expectations. Looking forward to seeing what she puts together for my sons wedding this year.

I just got married October 3rd, and Missy Gunnels' Flowers did such an amazing job! I couldn't be happier with how easy and nice they were to work with, and how smoothly everything went. And my bridal bouquet I carried down the aisle was prettier than anything I could have dreamed up or have ever seen on Pintrest! It was a dahlia floral fairytale. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience here. I showed up at about noon and requested a last minute stand-alone bouquet. The woman who helped me literally dropped what she was doing and put one together for me. In about 30 minutes she'd put one together and I couldn't be more pleased. It was exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this place for flowers and I'll definitely come back.

I am really disappointed that my experience turned out this way. I initially reached out to Missy and Ellie privately by email after the wedding to discuss what happened, but never received a response. Because of that, I feel it is fair to share my experience here. I worked with Missy and Ellie on my wedding flowers, and we created a detailed plan that I was very excited about. The final approved order included clear descriptions of the color palette and specifically noted greenery that I did not want used. Unfortunately, the morning of the wedding the flowers looked very different from what was in the order. Bride’s bouquet: I had specifically requested a large, dramatic, floppy bouquet. Instead, it was compact and only slightly larger than my bridesmaids’ bouquets. It also included a few red flowers, which were not part of the color palette I had provided. Bridesmaids’ bouquets: The bouquets included amaranthus, which was specifically listed in the order as something I did not want used. This was clearly noted at the top of the order, and it was also confirmed in an email sent to both Missy and Ellie. Groom’s boutonniere: The order specified that the groom would have a white flower so that his boutonniere would stand out from the groomsmen. However, he ended up with the same color as everyone else. I did not see the boutonnieres until we were already taking photos, at which point it was too late to address. Missy was not present the morning of the wedding. When I spoke with Ellie about the flowers, she had a very unkind demeanor and spoke to me in a passive-aggressive and rude way while I was getting ready. I was trying to remain calm and kind so that we could resolve the issue. It wasn’t until I showed her the detailed email that had been sent to both her and Missy, and asked her to please speak kindly to me on my wedding day, that her tone changed. She did take back my bouquet and redid it exactly how I had originally asked, and it turned out beautiful. She also removed the amaranthus from the bridesmaids’ bouquets. I completely understand that mistakes happen, and I would have been perfectly okay if the mistakes had simply been acknowledged and corrected kindly. What has stayed with me after the wedding is the way I was spoken to that morning and the fact that my follow up email about the situation was ignored. Unfortunately, it has left a really bad taste in my mouth regarding the flowers and my overall experience working with them.

I would give Missy 10 stars if I could! I planned my Tallahassee wedding remotely from New York. I interviewed many florists and landed on Missy because of her reputation and experience in the field. Missy and Team were extremely responsive and easy to work with. I sent over my mood boards and inspiration photos and Missy was able to break down each piece of my vision so that I could understand the costs for each type of look and make informed decisions. They were very generous with their time and helped me update my proposal as necessary. They also accommodated me for in-office visits when I made last-minute trips in town for planning. The outcome of the floral at my wedding far surpassed my expectations. I walked into the reception and had a complete WOW moment. I’m so glad that I hired Missy for the job and that I relinquished control to her and team because not only did she make my vision a reality, she elevated my decision using her expertise in event design. I can’t thank Missy and the team enough.
