Everything was handled with care, and compassion. No upselling, no bs. 5/5 would highly recommend if you’re in need of funeral services. Thank you Ed.
If I could give negative stars I would however you must tap a star to write a review. My mothers arrangements were a nightmare with Ed Kalis the son. Lies, and more lies. Over two weeks waiting - purchased services on line from out of state. I Came unannounced after being told repeatedly not to come she was not ready. I was told repeatedly the Medical examiner had not signed off ect. Something didn't feel right so I came anyway. I got there and no one could even find my mothers body. I had to file three missing body reports with three different city police stations. He would tell the cops he had her a one place they would go there and he would say oh no she's at this place- we will go there with the police and he would say oh no she's over here . Finally a homicide detective with Ft Lauderdale found her and verified it was her body 15 days after she was deceased! All the paperwork had been signed off by medical examiner days ago and there was no reason for the delay. I have no idea what he was actually planning to do with her body. I hate to even imagine! Being out of state we were the perfect candidates for them to sell her body for scientific research or who knows what! I could have gotten an alley cats ashes mailed to me for all I would have known. Thanks to the homicide detective who located her and verified it was her I was finally able to have her cremated and bring her home to my state with me. By the way...he's not even licensed to sell this service. He's only licensed to sell pre need services. I do not think he will be in business much longer as I believe he will be under investigation very soon. - I hope. The heartache and pain he caused me and my family will never be forgotten and I write this to save anyone else from that experience. Stay away! Very very far away. Whomever reads this I'm sorry for your loss. I recommend Fred Hunters in Hollywood. That's where my mom ended up and they were wonderful. Ed Kalis apparently is just a third party "head hunter" that sublets the jobs to them. But once again I remind you the father is retired, and the son has no license to sell these services. Worst experience of my life. My mother died and I didn't know where she was for 15 days. Poor lady was just sitting in a cooler for no reason thanks to the careless heartless services of this so called establishment. Stay away!
Ed was very professional and courteous, He handled all the. Arrangements for my mother in a timely manner. I would highly recommend his Funeral Home.
It's weird that it says "Loved It" next to a five star review for a funeral service but, Ed Kalis really did a great job with my sister's services. He made things easier for all of us by clearly explaining everything and listening carefully. We really didn't want to have her funeral in a stuffy, low ceilinged, dark funeral home and Ed was wonderful about arranging things with a beautiful local church and even communicated with the minister for us. I can't say enough good things about this family business.
My mom was taken from us June 29th 2019. I asked holy cross to give me the best funeral home and we got Edwards. I want to say that Ed the son who runs it now was amazing!! He helped me every step of the way! His compassion and great humor during the hardest time of my life was a welcome!! Thank you Ed for taking such great care of mom and giving us direction with putting mom and dad together at the veterans memorial. It was beautiful!! We appreciate you and hope if you ever get to Tallahassee you come see us!!
