Big Y

Even tho I live closer to this sore. I will not shop there anymore. I will take the extra time to go and shop at south hardly store. I'm starting to think that the bottom of the big y barrel of employees work there. Customers serves and friendly Ness truly lacks.

Update: January 04/2022 Extremely clean, well organized and safe shopping experience. Very friendly,helpful and professional service as always. I feel very safe shopping here during this second year of this global covid19 pandemic. My go to store for grocery shopping. Excellent deli, produce and seafood departments. Great varieties of hot prepared soups in the deli to warm you up on cold days like today. This is my favorite local grocery store. They have a excellent selection of items. The store is always very clean, organized and the staff is friendly. Wonderful bakery, deli, butcher, flower shop etc. I love their hot soup, they usually have 3-4 different kinds. Their pizza is delicious and made fresh. Great produce with plenty of organic options. I but seafood here all the time because its fresh, healthy and a good price. Great service. Great store.

The Manager, John kindly assisted me better with finding my favorite snack on a Saturday than the customer service counter girl. But they keep clean aqua velva floors.

Several issues with this Big Y. 1. The prepared foods/sandwiches/pizza/deli section needs to be better staffed. I spent 28 minutes on hold, someone kept picking up and placing the call on hold without any acknowledgement, or being told to hold. 2. Waited over 20 Minutes for a sandwich to be made due to the phone orders. 3. SHOUT OUT TO THE MANAGER WHO HELPED HER EMPLOYEES AT THE PIZZA SECTION YESTERDAY 12/18/25 @ AROUND 5:30PM. She seen they were backed up and helped instead of complaining. 4. The racial profiling needs to stop. No need to keep walking by & looking into/at someone's cart in self check out, making people feel uncomfortable, if there is a camera right at the register, one looking at what you are scanning, one on the bottom of the machine and one or several above our heads. 5. Employees and customers need to be treated better at this location.

The 2025 update reveals unacceptable food quality; while initially appearing acceptable, opened items are rancid, even bananas, others indicating expired cheeses, yogurts, prepared meals, and meats. This demonstrates a failure to implement proper food control and stock rotation procedures. We will be selecting an alternative grocery store. Update 4 years later March 2023 -Wow what a drop in service, cleanliness and consistency, asked for sushi without fake crabmeat or sesame seeds and for the same price as getting it with some fish in the roll now you only get cucumber and carrot. #sonotworthit 5 star 4 years 2019 ago: Great customer service. Clean organized numerous choices, great sales, great selection! Snowflake rolls have to have them every time I come to Chicopee, seriously something not findable just anywhere. Pleasant service in all departments & did I mention "clean" it's a thing 🧐
