This is a very beautiful place and a must visit. The area is quite peaceful and if you are into photography it is a great spot.

I visited on a weekday and found it wonderfully peaceful, with few other visitors, allowing me to fully appreciate the tranquility and connection to nature. Lots of labeled native plants along the paths. Many are for sale too by the entrance. The main gravel path is the most trafficked, but there are smaller quieter trails too. The redone boardwalks and terrific and worth the trail detour. Pick up a free map at the shop by the entrance.
Maybe it was too early in the season but there were very few flowers. The trails are well manicured crushed stone. The visitor center has a nice feel to it. At one point I was yelled at for stepping off the path even though I was evading a four wheeler.
This 45 acre well maintained nature preserve is well worth the drive. It closed October 15 for the season and will open again in April. It has a beautiful visitors center with all kinds of interesting things to purchase. The trails are gravel and are wide and flat, good for everyone to walk. It is beautiful with woods, a lily pond with turtles and frogs, a swamp area, a stream with small waterfalls and a new walking bridge. Many kinds of plants and trees, all marked for your information. A wonderful day trip and easy to get to. The loop is just over a mile and easy walking.
