Being from the Swansea area, this Walmart is super convenient and almost always well-stocked. The staff is definitely a highlight—they are friendly and have always been willing to help me when I have a question. My only downsides are the checkout situation and the selection. I really wish there were more actual cashiers available after doing a full grocery haul, the last thing I want to do is use self-checkout. Also, for our local Portuguese community🇵🇹, the international aisle is a bit lacking. I'd love to see a better variety of products there!
I have been going to this Walmart for years since I’ve been living in Swansea. I’ve encountered a lot of things that I did not approve of while in the store. I think one of the biggest things is the customer service. Those skills are lacked with the younger crowd especially. These days most people are disrespectful, especially the younger generation, and I’m not old. I’ve noticed a lot of the times when I’m going there the people that are in charge of picking up groceries for others or maneuvering pallets around to distribute to shelves, are out of control. Tonight proved it all right. Someone named NATE came out out of the back storage area, flying around the corner with a huge pallet seeing me walking with my carriage and continue to straightforward towards me almost hitting my six-year-old daughter. He then had the audacity to say “Excuse me” in the most sarcastic way . So I then said “ Excuse me, You’re the one who needs to slow down with that palate”. He then yelled at me an isle over stating that it’s my fault if he hit her. I stated that it would not be my fault that it would be his fault and Walmart’s fault. At that point in time, as he was walking down the aisle, he continued to swear “F” loudly multiple times in front of myself and 5 and 6 year old children, enough for a coworker to hear him in the back corner, where the cheese and yogurts were. When I approached her, she thought that he was joking, but clearly he was not. I told her I was reporting him not only for the disrespect of him talking to me the way that he did in front of my kids, but also the fact that he was going to blame me for his mistake and also potentially injuring my daughter. It seemed like he had no care in the world. I hope that this gets to the higher appropriate people of Walmart. He should be reprimanded. I will be calling to make sure that this is taken care of.
I would give zero stars if I could. The online ordering department at this Swansea location is a complete disaster. I’ve had nothing but issues with orders being delayed, items missing, or getting the wrong notifications. The worst part is the absolute incompetence of the online ordering team. When you try to get help, the staff is clueless, but the manager is the real problem. They were incredibly unprofessional, dismissive, and lacked any basic leadership or problem-solving skills. It’s clear the issues start at the top. If you value your time and want your order to actually be correct, do yourself a favor and go to a different location or avoid their pickup service altogether. Total waste of time.
BEWARE!!! My first time, as a senior citizen, that I felt somewhat threatened. While in the Swansea Walmart a nice young man (I thought) started to chat with my sister and I about our electric supplier, National Grid (he said as his lead into the conversation). She left and I kept listening (I discovered after she had dealt with him in a different Walmart before). He was asking for my email address to email me whatever it was he was going to give me. Then some more questions that led me to pay more attention. It was when he asked for my SS# that when I flat out refused and said I was not interested in switching my electric supplier. I was not switching my supplier and to delete everything I had responded to. When he asked why, I said I am quite happy with my present supplier. We went back and forth. He was getting more assertive as was I. I finally reached across his tablet and hit the back button at which point he got really indignant and almost confrontational about my touching his tablet to which I apologized! But I was not about to walk away until he deleted my info. After about 10 minutes he deleted it. Hopefully, he didn’t restore it. I am going to report him to Walmart and yes, I took a picture of his badge! I don’t want to see anyone lose their job this is not the way to go to to get customers, they are the last people I would care to do business with! BEWARE. DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE.
Thank you Jocelyn for truly listening to my issue and making it right. I usually don't shop at Walmart often but I must say I was truly impressed with their customer service. Top notch!
