Petals

I was referred to Petals by a restaurant across the street, and I'm so happy that I was. Needed some flowers for a memorial meal for my mother. They made up a wonderful arrangement for her urn and some nice little cubes for along the table. Took the time to ask me what my mother would have liked and it made for a very lovely table.

Called to order a boutonnière and a corsage for my son’s homecoming. I had some inspiration on Pinterest and wanted the items to match their outfits (light pink and white). I asked for small light pink roses, white flowers, some pink small flowers if they needed variety, greenery and for it to tie with a ribbon around her wrist. The person answering the phone made me feel like a burden. They called to remind me to pick up my order and wanted me to do so now, early, because they wanted to close early for the day. The corsage was a bunch of small yellow, purple and pink flowers and the boutonnière was a daisy with a sprig of some small purple flower wrapped in black ribbon. Kind of unattractive, blah, and not at all what I asked for. The items didn’t match each other or the kids’ outfits. I communicated that to them they told me that they didn’t have small roses. You would have thought they would have called to ask if I would have liked something else. I was visibly upset and they didn’t seem to be bothered by that at all. Charged me full price and let me walk out the door with something that didn’t like. My thoughtful husband called and asked for them to fix it. They begrudgingly put together a different order which I appreciate but the whole experience was extremely unpleasant. They also requested that I give them the first order back. I just feel like they threw my first order together with the leftovers from having a busy dance weekend - but in my defense I ordered a couple weeks in advance. Word of advice, give them a photo of what you want and make sure they’re not too busy. If you don’t like something, don’t pay for it to be polite. You deserve to have your vision realized without being treated like a Karen. Update: The owner read review and called me to argue. When I told her what the young female employee had said about wanting me to pick it up early so they could close early - owner simply stayed that she will support her employees and she didn’t feel that was true. As if I lied. Just, a super disappointing conversation.

So awesome. They somehow found time to fit in my wedding even though I procrastinated way too late, we talked on the phone a bit, I filled out a questionnaire, sent some pinterest boards, gave them a vague budget and they knocked it out of the park! I let them use my boards as inspiration and let them run with whatever they thought would look good and absolutely did not regret it - I figure they're the professional flower people, they have better flower vision than I do. There were a lot of really cool things in the bouquets I've never seen before, and we got a lot of complements on the ceremony decorations (which last minute had to be moved for potential rain but still worked in the new space too). Super easy to work with, would use them again in a heartbeat if we lived anywhere near Charlevoix haha :)

Kari & Shannon are WONDERFUL people to work with! We had our wedding at the Castle and they brought my vision to life while working with our budget. They were there for us when we had questions/comments/concerns and were extremely helpful throughout the whole process. I can not say better things about the both of them and would recommend them to anyone having a wedding in the Charlevoix area! We love Petals and will always be using them for our flower needs while in CVX!!!

You can tell they put genuine heart into their work. On the day of, everything was seamless; we didn’t have to worry about a thing, and the florals added so much magic to our event.
