Sent my sister flowers for Christmas within a couple days the roses were dead, wilted or never bloomed. She called to request a refund and owner refused. Suggested they would just replace the roses. Said she should have called sooner. Really sooner you expected the flowers to die? Spent close to $100 and expected better customer service. It’s difficult when you are out of state and use a local florist. I try to support small businesses but highly disappointed! I will find another florist next time. Response from owner is not accurate. My sister was only offered replacement of roses by Sue an employee of florist. She did water the flowers everyday and it’s obvious they were substandard. Lots of excuses from establishment and poor customer service. What was sent looks nothing like the photo and what I ordered on website. Spoke to a very nice gentleman this morning who seemed very willing to rectify but is not the owner. Last photo is what she received hardly quality work. Thank you to the employee that I spoke to this morning. He left 2 messages explaining that the owner had not come in. He was very kind and wanted to rectify the issue (even thou he had no authority to do so). He definitely understands customer service. I apologize I did not get your name but thank you!
I arranged over the phone and in-person the flowers for my Aunts funeral service at our local church. The beautiful varieties suggested by Sue were so beautiful! The one basket I really wanted as I wanted to keep was so unique. I felt most confident leaving all the plans at Charvat! Highly recommend!
I received a birthday bouquet of flowers from Charvat Florist from my daughters on September 24th. This is a totally honest review and timeline of what transpired. I am taking the time to write this to warn anyone thinking of using this florist. When I initailly removed the bouquet from the box I could see that one of the two lilies in the bouquet was already brown and curling at the edges. It was dead the next day and the second lily died the following day. There was a beautiful big blue hydrangea in the arrangement but unfortunately was died by day 4. All the main flowers were dead within 4 days and the carnations that virtually can last for weeks and weeks were dying after 4 days as well. I waited till September 28th to call the florist because I didn’t want my daughter who ordered the flowers to hear the call, as she left that day. When I called I talked to the most pleasant receptionist who was very sad to hear of what transpired and said she didn’t want an unhappy customer and they would replace the arrangement. I was very appreciative of her kindness as that was not even my intent when calling. Unfortunately she talked to the manager of the Charvat who said they cannot replace the arrangement but instead could only “refresh it”. I thought this was hilarious because the entire arrangement was dying and the only thing viable was some of the greenery. I passed on the "refreshing option" and instead felt it would be better to write a review. I have a passion and hobby in flower arranging and am very aware of how to care for flowers to increase their longevity. Even with all the water changing daily and cutting the stems to allow fresh water to uptake, I couldn’t save these. They were poor quality flowers from the very start. Hope this review helps!
After learning of the sudden death of a relative, I called Charvat the Florist early this morning to request a same-day delivery of flowers to the funeral home in Sterling Heights. I called Charvat because generations of our very large family has ordered thousands of dollars of flowers from Charvat for decades, and I knew that all the florals for my relative's funeral home viewing and church were being delivered today from Charvat, so I thought perhaps an arrangement from me could be added to the truck for today's delivery. Judging by the Charvat employee's tone and demeanor, one would have thought I had requested the winning lottery ticket. Her immediate reply was, "No. Our truck went out for deliveries hours ago. It cannot be done." I politely thanked the employee and asked her if she could perhaps recommend a Sterling Heights florist who might be able to accommodate my same-day request, to which she replied, "Accommodate? What does that mean?" I explained that I thought she might be able to suggest a florist located in the Sterling Heights area, to which she abruptly responded, "No. We don't know anything about Sterling Heights. It's too far out." Hm...You don't know anything about Sterling Heights, yet you just filled a sizeable order for delivery in Sterling Heights and your truck is en route to Sterling Heights as we speak? I thanked her and called another florist, who gladly accommodated my request and delivered an arrangement to the Sterling Heights funeral home in less than two hours. No expedited charges, no shaming me for requesting a same-day arrangement, and they understood the meaning of the word "accommodate" and the importance of courtesy and respect. Apparently Charvat prefers to stay within the confines of Mack Avenue and Moross and does not wish to do business outside of the declining Grosse Pointe area unless, of course, they receive a large order such as the one they fulfilled today for my wealthy relative. Unfortunately for Charvat, after years of loyal patronage, this will be the last order they will receive from my extended family and friends. Farewell, Charvat.
I recently placed an order for a dear friend of mine funeral. I gave them my budget which was $200. Below is the picture of what I was supposed to receive versus what I received. When I spoke to them about my order the response I was given was “I gave you a discount” which was upsetting to me because I never wanted nor asked for one. I just wanted to do something nice for my dear friend as a tribute to the wonderful life she shared with most while she was here. This experience was very unsettling for me.
