Beautiful store! Safeway's produce and bakery displays are gorgeous, making you feel like you're eating works of art. Everything is clean and shining. There were some manufacture shortages, but the store has no control over that. The deli worker was pleasant and friendly, but did not determine who was next in line. Trying to figure out some of the sales prices was confusing. The cashier, Joel, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and the bagger packed the bags quickly and competently. Enjoyable shopping experience.
Safeway is one of those stores that always feels familiar. The layout makes sense, the shelves are well-stocked, and I can usually find what I need without wandering around like a lost tourist. Their produce is fresh, the meat department is clean and reliable, and the bakery smells like heaven if you walk by at just the right time. The staff are helpful and polite, and the self-checkout is a lifesaver when you're in a hurry. I also appreciate the digital coupons and deals through the app, which can actually save a good chunk if you remember to clip them before shopping.
This place is filled with undertrained employees run by rude management. They also have never once had their money services open since I've been in Bozeman 6 months. Plus, the deli worker wore the same gloves to help someone, went back to do dishes, and returned to help me with the exact same gloves. Disgusting. Its an utter chore to shop here and leaves the customer feeling like theyre the problem, God forbid you notice anything or say anything.
Worst Safeway I’ve ever been to. I’m not one who normally leaves a review on anything good or bad, but this was exceptionally horrible. We went to get Starbucks, and the lady at the counter seemed to LOVE her job… she took our order and gave a heavy sigh, and proceeded to slam things. We went to the deli, ordered some below mid chicken nuggets. After the deli, we sat down and began eating. We were pacing around saying “where do we pay” because we genuinely didn’t know. We figured you’d pay after and began eating. While eating a lady came us and very passive aggressively told us to go pay (understandable, but it would be nice if someone kindly told us where to pay instead of being treated like a sack of trash. I left my sunglasses on the table as an indicator that we would be back. Literally 30 seconds later when we came back, they were gone. We got the drinks from Starbucks from the angry lady on her phone and when we asked for a drink holder, she sighed, rolled her eyes, grabbed one, and tossed it in our direction landing on the table. After that we went around asking people if they had seen my sunglasses, no one made an effort. Finally left when we talked to the manager who wrote our names and phone number down and said she’d call if they found anything. I’d give a -7/10 if I could.
Went to the Market area to have lunch. Lots of tables nice environment enjoyed my meal. But when I tried to get a sip of water with my meal... NOTHING. I asked employees, multiple counters, even Starbucks. They all told me any beverages must be purchased. Come on, water in a dinning area no longer a thing if you cant boost profit. wow
