I ordered a cake from Acme and even sent in a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like. The cake I recieved looked very little like the one I wanted. I wanted a black cake with neon border and drip and got a brown cake with pastels. The drips and border were messy and the cakes icing had been damaged by the boxing. When I called to ask why it looked so different I was met with someone who was very defensive and blamed me for choosing whipped icing over butter cream. I told her that if they had called me and told me the colors wouldn't be as vibrant ans they couldnt do black whipped icing I would have told them to use butter cream. She told me she didn't like that I "didn't appreciate the time and hard work" she put into the cake. I told her that I did respect that which is why I paid for the cake but needed her to understand that if someone is paying for something and it's going to be that different to call the customer and let them know their options. She told me that everyone said the cake looked perfect and just like the picture. It does not and my family agreed. I'm honestly more disappointed with my interaction then with the actual cake. We've always used Acme for birthday cakes and they've been delicious and beautiful, but after this experience I will never go back.
Acme is the closest grocery store near me. I go here and only shop for specials. Im a big cereal lover, so I buy the cereal on sale. I also use an app that I get coupons from. Im an avid receipt scanner for my discounts. If anyone is interested just send me a message or reply. Acme does have a great bakery and meat department. The store is very quiet in Woodstown, NJ because I shop usually after 8pm.
Came in a week in advance to speak to the baker about doing a pink and purple cheetah print cake. Picked up this monstrosity today. Was told I could come back and get generic sheet cakes which defeats the purpose of ordering specific cakes. The woman on the phone argued with me that these are what cheetah spots look like. I don’t think she’s ever seen a cheetah. I need a manager to call me immediately to resolve this as I have 40 people en route to my house.
Great market with such friendly and helpful people working there. There is always someone nearby to assist with any questions you may have. Seafood, meat and deli areas are well stocked with the freshest stuff. We've been going there long enough that the deli people know to always give us the low sodium cold cuts. Small town feel with large town selections.
I purchased a bag of Lindt Lindor chocolates from Acme in Woodstown and when I opened it at home. I found a hole in the side of the bag and two chocolates already unwrapped inside. Very disappointing and concerning for food safety. I saved the packaging and will be reaching out for a refund/replacement, or it could be someone did it on purpose. It also seems like some were missing.
