Macy's

Visited Macy’s at Crossgates Mall, I did. A grand hall of fashion and goods, its presence strong remains. Yet within its walls, a most nostalgic sight revealed itself—Toys R Us, alive once more, though in a different form. The spirit of childhood, rekindled it was, with Geoffrey the Giraffe standing as guardian of youthful wonder. Roamed the aisles, I did, with no need for guidance, yet assistance was offered by a few kind souls. A disturbance in the Force, there was not, but neither did I form deep connections with the keepers of the store. Merely passing shadows they were, ensuring all was well but not lingering in my journey.

Macy’s remains as one of the few upscale department stores in the area. Although this Macys has always taken a backseat to its larger cousin at Colonie Center this one holds its own. The departments are large and well stocked and unlike another department stores at Crossgates Macy’s does not always look like they are continually having a going out of business sale! Great to browse and when they have clearance items in the housewares section they are generally great bargains.

I visited the Macys in Crossgates this am 11/12/25. I was looking for MAC lipstick a certain color. Jean Anderson waited on me she was SOO helpful, & Knowledgeable (she worked @ The Channel counter). I asked her about different skin care products, again she was very informative. She also explained to me the Pre sales. Thus I purchased items today & will return on 12/2 to pick up. (items that go very fast). Again a huge shout out to JEAN @ CHANNEL. THANK YOU Robin Liberty!!!

Nice, classic, spacious department store that can meet many of your needs. I don't often shop at Macy's however because the stuff tends to be pricier than I like and there is much lacking when it comes to sales; the case is the same for this store. It seems a bit rundown though in many places - worn, dirty carpeting, walls, and displays; and its of course following the unattractive trend of retailers playing holiday/Christmas music WAY too early. The employees that work here though are friendly and their accessories section has nice selections. I can't for the life of me though get used to their hideous mens section with the repulsive green carpeting. Who the heck thought that was an attractive idea? Do yourselves a favor, Macy's and throw it out you're better off with brown.

Don't have bags for purchases. Do not know when they will have bags and do not really seem to care that you can purchase and dont have any bags to put it in...
