It was our first time visiting this business and it was amazing. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable with helping you pick and care for plants. We purchased a heart to heart plant that will be added to our home this week.
The blonde lady at the cash register needs to work on her attitude. All other staff are kind and they have a good selection of different plants.
Excellent and helpful service. Their flower selection is beautiful and moderately priced . Go there every year.
Frustrated beyond belief. I have been buying and selling on line for almost 30 years, designed and operate my own e-commerce site, so I certainly know how to use a web site. After a 10 minute attempt to find wax bean seeds I gave up. The search bar would not return any relevant results; clicking on the "products" bar brought up nothing but gift card selections. I have in the past put up with Hewitt's outrageous prices because the service and selection is fairly good. This is my first, and last, attempt to deal with them on line, and to be honest, if they do not care about helping customers easily find products to buy on line, they shouldn't get my in-person purchases either. I will go elsewhere for garden supplies and plants. Hewitts is certainly not the only non-big box place in the area. My suggestion would be to put a lot more effort into improving the user experience and search funnel on the site.
In the 2 years since we've owned a house in the area, we've enjoyed shopping here for the good selections and decent prices. Yesterday's trip turned out a little sour. My wife found a couple of hydrangeas she liked that were marked $19.98 on their individual tags, but the nearby store employee insisted they were $25, pointed to a Hewitt's sign near the cluster of hydrangeas and said he couldn't mark them down. When we pointed out the discrepancy to the cashier, she told us there was nothing she could do, that they would cost the $25 the employee had marked on a slip of paper. When my wife found the assistant manager, he also told her they were $25, regardless of what their individual tags said. This doesn't seem right. When I was in retail and something was incorrectly priced lower than we meant, I was taught to immediately apologize, sell the item for the lower price and see that someone changed the tags or signage to match the price we intended. No apologies, no explanation from Hewitt's. :-(
