Dollar General

I'd give zero stars if I could. The store was a mess. Christine was rude, blocking the aisle and walking in front of me while I tried to look at items. I asked the cashier (black t-shirt and jeans, no name tag or uniform of any sort) what the managers name was, and he said Dylan. As I was leaving he says I'm Dylan how can I help you. I told him Christine was rude and she comes running up yelling she wasn't rude my cart was in the way. I said was it really so important to set up Christmas 2 weeks before Halloween, stopping a customer from shopping the Halloween section. Dylan says yes it's very important we get Christmas set up now. I said fine I'm all set shopping here, and his reply was thats ok I have never seen you in here before anyway... wow. I understand why the store looks the way it does and the staff is rude if that's the way the manager talks to a customer. There is zero reason an employee needs to walk between a customer and the merchandise they are looking at to purchase. Neither Dylan or Christine should be in customer service and Dylan should definitely not be in a management position.

I would give it zero stars if I could the workers are their to socialize and not even work, they let groups of kids in the store who harass customers and throw racist comments at them, and the workers will do nothing. This place is rundown and disgusting. I would not go here even if they paid me.

During my last 2 times shopping here, I experienced extremely long wait times, to check out. The line was long, with only one register open. During my experience today, there were 13 customers waiting in line and an additional cashier was never requested by the sole employee at the register.

A great, convenient quick pick up place for milk and popular groceries. Prices are good and the Clover Valley products are good. You can find makeup and lots of other incidentals. One of the best things is it's open until 10 p.m., that's one hour longer than other stores in small towns.

Dollar General is of of those places that I shop at occasionally but more because it's right around the corner than for any other reason. There are some decent prices here and the employees are friendly enough but there's just nothing special about the experience. Basically speaking, for me it's the slightly less costly corner store.
