Belmont Market

This supermarket always makes grocery shopping easy and enjoyable. The layout is simple to follow, and the store is kept very clean. The staff are helpful and provide great service whenever needed. I always find fresh products at good prices here.

Family owned market. This is the best (and ONLY) place I shop (local) for groceries. During the busy season, it’s not uncommon for the owners’ to be working the registers and bagging groceries. this is true leadership - “lead by example.” It’s not just because of the attention to detail and being on a first name basis with most if not all of the long-time staff: I am a history professor and Retired Army journalist. I react and judge businesses HARSHLY when I encounter low morale or lack of initiative in the front-line workers. When I do, I say something, as it is usually a symptom of a failure of leadership. It is not the case here, when the owner is personally reviewing the details of my catering order while training a cashier simultaneously. Belmont employs many senior and disabled people from the community. Additionally, these employees clearly take tremendous PRIDE in their job and serve as role models for the younger workers. As a wheelchair user this is something that I particularly appreciate: what’s more is that they clearly invest a great deal of time and energy to properly train and mentor their employees, which is why you get the level of professional service that you do, as opposed to their impersonal corporate competitors. I truly appreciate all of the staff at Belmont: their devotion to their trade; the attention to detail and the personalized touches are what holds this business on a completely higher threshold than their impersonal faceless foreign-owned greedy corporate competitors. Staff are friendly and courteous. The cashiers are nice too. One girl (Paige) signed me up for a rewards program. She took the time and I never felt rushed. I also like the hometown feel of a small market. I enjoy supporting a small, local business.

High quality groceries (especially produce). The prices are very reasonable for what feels like a very premium store. Staff is always very friendly and efficient. Checkouts are well staffed to speed your way out.

Today I noticed that they had Annie’s Mac n Chx & Cans of Tuna - 10/$10. I believe Belmonts priced them to help their customers be able to eat or encourage customers buying for the food pantry. What a great way to help support community. Belmont is for community! SNAP benefits end this week and there are 100,000 people who need help to feed themselves and their children. ☮️
