Great variety and prices. I can't say enough about how knowledgable, friendly, funny and helpful the staff is here. Harry the owner really works hard to provide the best and freshest products for his customers. I'm also really impressed about how clean and organized this wholesaler is as well. Absolutely worth your time to go visit and see for yourself.

Was approached by a male delivery driver at the truck stop because I was parked by the gas pump. He yelled at me and said “You can’t park there if your not fueling up and called me a….Karen!” he obviously doesn’t know what a “Karen” is. I did get gas! I had a gas can in the back of my vehicle. It was for an elderly couple that needed gas for his lawn mower and the gas is too heavy for him to pick up. I had to run in and grab a receipt because it didn’t print and grabbed a snack. You have a very very very rude employee!

I recently visited North American Wholesale Florist with the intent of becoming a new buyer. I had previously toured the facility with a kind and welcoming gentleman who encouraged me to return when the front desk staff could answer more of my questions. His hospitality—and that of other employees I encountered during the visit—made me feel hopeful about stepping into the floral community here in Sioux Falls. Unfortunately, that experience quickly shifted during my most recent visit. Upon introducing myself and explaining that I had left my buyer application at home, I was met with immediate friction. The woman at the front desk was cold and dismissive. Rather than welcoming a potential new customer or even offering clarity on the process, she led with a hardline question about whether I could meet their $250/week minimum. When I explained that I’m new to the area and in the process of re-establishing my part-time floral business, I was told they “don’t sell to people like me” to “protect the florists.” When I explained that I am a florist and that this business is part of how I support my family, I was told that it wasn’t my livelihood. That assumption felt not only unfair but deeply out of line, especially coming from the first point of contact for a local wholesale business. I inquired if exceptions are ever made for new or growing florists, and the answer was a curt “no.” I left feeling discouraged, unwelcome, and ultimately disheartened that someone in such a visible customer-facing role would treat any aspiring small business owner this way. I had hoped to find community, guidance, and professionalism—and was instead met with resistance and judgment. I truly hope this experience was an exception and not the norm, as I know the floral industry thrives on relationships and mutual support. My Reply to NAWF response: Unfortunately, I was never asked if I had a tax ID or business number. I was only asked if I could afford the minimum weekly purchase order. I do in fact, have a Tax ID and did so at the time of my visit. I'm not sure that would have changed anything, tho because it was made explicitly clear that unless I can meet the weekly purchase minimum, NAWF does not offer any opportunities to partner with part-time, start-ups, or up-and-coming local florists. If this information isn't true and there is a possibility of partnership, please let me know.
