i'm not impressed with the store. It's very old and the employees have no idea what's going on in their own store. I went in for a bottle of water and after walking around the store myself five times I had to ask three employees where it was. None of them knew. When I asked for a manager suddenly someone walked up and pointed to the proper aisle. You don't have a lot of choices in Galveston as far as grocery stores. So I think it may be worth the drive to go somewhere else. Some people forget that being at work means you actually have to do something
I had an experience recently where the floral department and I had a misunderstanding resulting in me not getting the balloons I ordered ahead of time. The store manager, Randy, stepped in and went above and beyond to make sure I had the balloons for my special event! A sincere thank you!
I prefer Randall’s because I feel their meat selection is better than the other two markets on the island. I love their customer service and the deli selection is better than most.
Decided to stop by while visiting to see if they sold anything I'm not used to finding at home. I used to be able to buy heirloom tomatoes in my hometown but haven't seen any for about a year and a half now. I spotted some heirlooms and bought 5lbs, almost every one they had. I LOVE heirloom tomatoes and my life sucks without them. All is right with the world, now. Otherwise, fairly typical grocery store experience. Staff were pleasant, checkout was easy, clean store and no odd smells.
Randall's has a better selection than the seawall option. You'll find more variety in products, brands, and specialty items. The store is well-organized and generally clean. It's also less crowded and parking is much easier. You will pay a tax for that though 😉
