Much nicer than the American Fork location. This place is well lit, large, and clean. Good selection and decent prices. It's no Harmons, but since it's closer, it'll do.
I cannot recommend this Macey’s location enough. I have visited this lovely local grocery store likely more than 100 times throughout my life. I frequented it when I was younger for the yummy Kong Kones (big ice cream cones) and went countless other times with family, friends, and solo for grocery shopping. I loved my experience every time. Workers have been friendly each visit. The store is clean and gives off enjoyable, local vibes. It is closed on Sunday which is a bummer, but great hours otherwise. I would recommend grocery shopping here to anybody that asked me about it and anybody in the area.
Newly renovated. They have a great area with tables and seating to eat at near the deli. This is my go to place to take youth groups and family groups for ice cream. Very affordable. They have a great cheese and sushi area as well. There was a man making all the sushi from scratch right there. My kids said it was delicious.
I write reviews often, and I need to point out some issues with Macey’s grocery store. Prices here are noticeably higher than other places. For example, I scanned a bottle of POM cranberry juice (48 oz). At Walmart, it’s $9.42. At Macey’s, it was $12.99. That’s over three dollars more for the same exact product. When I asked about price matching, the employee told me, “We sell it for our price. That’s the only price it goes for.” That kind of attitude shows they don’t care about being competitive or giving customers a fair deal. Then at checkout, I tried to do a split payment, something I’ve done before without an issue. This time the register froze on “processing.” I was confused, but instead of explaining, the cashier just hit cancel. That caused my cash to be returned and the whole purchase to go on my card. The system clearly doesn’t work right, and staff should at least communicate what they’re doing before pressing buttons that affect the payment. So here’s the bottom line: the registers are unreliable, split payments don’t work properly, and the prices are higher than Walmart and other stores. The only good thing I can say is their cold cuts are reasonably priced. Everything else makes it hard to recommend shopping here.
I’m really sad to write this review. We have shopped here for years, spent tens of thousands of dollars here and have loved the Kong Kones. Since their recent migration to Instacart for order pickup (we don’t do delivery) not only have the prices gone up. The customer service seems to have gone down. I spoke to supervisor tonight named Hannah who was very rash and cold with me, when I brought up a simple missing item. She claimed to have personally “picked and dropped the order off” when it was a man who came to our car… I was then told to “work with Instacart” because they didn’t know what else to do. I’m understanding of that, these peer shopping/delivery apps, that’s how they work. What I’m really not ok with is the “not my job not my problem” attitude and lack of willingness to even discuss that there was an error made. I’m really disappointed in this interaction and the change to Instacart (though I know this likely won’t change anything). I don’t write these reviews very often , so I’m sad to do it this time. But I’m really bothered by it. ** Just an update. The normal person who helps us reached out and offered to deliver the items that were missed. This is the service we love. Everyone has a bad day I understand. Thank you for making it right! I’ve updated my review. **
