My Grandpa used to drop off books at those blue donation bins regularly, was part of his routine. Now that they’re gone, we’ve started shopping at a different supermarket. Frankly, it’s disappointing to see such a short sighted decision. Those book donation bins have been a steady and meaningful part of this community for years, especially for the elderly. Many seniors rely on them as a simple, accessible way to give back. Replacing them with seasonal food trucks might seem trendy, but it takes away something far more lasting and impactful. These bins weren’t just containers, they were a quiet service to the neighborhood. Removing them sends the wrong message. Please reconsider.
I lived in this area and loved this grocery store. I came back and they have changed a large portion of the check outs to self check. Their system is terrible! The signals are constantly going off. It has a camera that is recording you and they have to review the footage several times for almost everyone. I don’t see how it saves time. The associates are annoyed with it and they are less than kind about it. Such a bad idea.
I have been going to Smith’s for years. I have been going to 10305 south 1300 East in Sandy Utah. It’s normally a good experience. Last week when I went to a few last minute things my family needed I was approached by a manager who gave me a ten minute talk. He blamed me for his staff not getting their work done. I was told I was too friendly. Translation get what you need and leave. Very disrespectful and uncalled for. I was sled to leave. I won’t be back
Good luck finding what you come in for. Shelves always have big holes and heaven forbid there be fresh cut pineapple. Gone in multiple times and never can find any. Giving 3 stars cause the male manager at night, is super helpful and most of the time the employees are respectful and helpful, with the exception of the time I heard the dairy kid say he wouldn't help a senior citizen get some chairs down.
The holidays are coming and they’re all set. I was glad to pick up some things I needed for Thanksgiving already not to mention the store looked good today. The employees they are awesome.. their store director. Greg always provides good leadership at that place. Well done.!
