Shaw's is a nice clean super market. It has a surprisingly good selection of items for it's size. The staff are friendly. Checkout lanes move at a good pace and there are four self checkout lanes. They also offer online shopping with scheduled pickup which is easy to use. I'm am all around happy with my experiences at Shaw's.
This Market is sad and in disrepair. The front entrance door's do not close all of the time. It's 20 degrees outside with strong winds and both are wide open. The cashier has to wear a heavy coat and gloves-she is very old and not happy. Ceiling tiles are missing, huge hole gaps in the ceiling . I counted this-17 4' fluorescent lights IN A ROW are out, leaving the entrance and front of the store dark and not appealing at all. Is there any management here? At all? I wanted to ask the young man with mustache and glasses while I was in th self serve check out but he seemed as mad as the cashier. And forget about someone bagging any groceries for you. That, in my three years of shopping here-has never happened. Not once. The TV that usually shows the staff is dark, turned off. Something needs to be done about this place, quickly.
In a small town like Manchester, grocery options are pretty limited—it’s basically Shaw’s or Price Chopper. For me, Shaw’s is my go-to. I’m here several times a month, picking up the bulk of my groceries, while I usually only stop at Price Chopper if I need one or two quick items since it’s closer to where I work. As a Maine native, I was surprised to see Shaw’s here when I first moved—it’s always been a familiar name to me, but I assumed it was Maine-only. That little bit of nostalgia aside, this location carries everything I need, and the deli section is my favorite stop. The fried or grilled chicken from the deli is consistently good, and I find myself grabbing it often. For a small-town supermarket, Shaw’s does the job well—reliable, well-stocked, and familiar.
Nightmare of a place, obviously I expected entitled customers cuz of the area. But this one specific cashier was sooo rude. When I first walked in? She was in one of the isles and she shoved me, then I accidentally get in her line. Fine. She snapped at me for not reading the sign on the card reader, yes I admit I should've noticed it and I said "Oh crap" immediately as I was doing it. But she didn't have to yell at me over it. It said "Tap Only", she proceeded to yell and say "READ THE TAPE" and got pissy when I apologized. It was the one with maroon hair and face tattoos with leopard print
They didint let my dad buy alcohol as a gift just because was with me even if it was just a gift and tomorrow he has to go back to Italy. The supervisor was also very rude
